We all know they are there but a few of us get eaten alive every season by these devilish critters.:devilish: So...... whatever it is you do to prevent them just DO IT !!!!

My grandson and I went fishing the other morning. We drove their Ranger pulling the boat to the water's edge. Then launched the boat. Afterwards reloaded the boat. During that brief period in a freshly bushhogged launch area I got about 10 visitors up my legs.

I typically used Deet 40 on my skin and Permethrin on my clothes and still get a chigger occasionally. I had not used anything that day.

I was a chigger magnet read about the Apple cider vinegar on this forum and have been Chigger free for the last 10 years and tick!
I do two tablespoons of Braggs apple cider vinegar every morning diluted in a little water. Another benefit is I haven’t taken a antacid tablet in as many years after a late night dinner!

Either Permanone or Repel for me. Permanone is getting tough to find. Permethrin by any name will work. As milkman says only on your clothes. Sensitivity is pretty common if you get it directly on your skin. I spray socks and pants prior to season and let dry in. Always keep a bottle on hand in truck for touch ups.

Haven’t found a tick on me since I started using permethrin on my clothes and gear, and picardin on my skin. Deet and heat/sun irritate my skin pretty bad, swamp mosquitos drink it like koolade, and it smells god awful.

My 17 year old son shot a hog a few weeks ago and trailed it for an hour! My friend and him ended up hitting what the DR said was a nest of chiggers. He had over 100 bites. Terrible! Never seen or heard anything like it.

Guys whatever you do, spray or take what ever works, I started having some health problems here recently and thought it was because of side effects of Covid, come to find out I’ve got lime and Rocky Mountain fever, never would’ve thought about having that, just finished some serious antibiotics for 90 days, feel better now, would’ve never known until my wife (nurse) decided to make them test me for it, I’ve never been scared of a tick, Being sick will make you think about them ;) be careful out there!!!

Permethrin on my clothes and wear snake boots with my pants tucked in. Knock on wood I’ve never had a tick or chiggers in over 20 years. Mind you I don’t sit or lay down on the ground while I’m in the woods either.
Same here. I think the clothes tucked in thing starting at the boots helps alot. Give ya a fighting chance.?

For those that use apple cider vinegar do you drink it every day or just before the woods or what? I work out in pasture and woods a good bit and this time of year im always gettin chiggers on me. Not many ticks but dang! I hate long pants.

The night before. Gives it time to get in your system good.

Permethrin on clothes
Picaridin on skin
Apple Cider Vinegar in stomach

This seems to be the best combo to keep everything off you. Plenty of videos on YouTube about these products.

I am the high priest of the Church of Holy Permethrin. Clothes, boots and socks all get an overkill application of it with Deet applied in liberal amounts around my neck, wrists, arms, waist, ankles and shins/calves. I've seen too many stories on here about RMSF, Lyme and Alpha Gal and my luck ain't so swooft.
