I already have had about 6 or so ticks on me this year .I very rarely ever get chiggers. I never use any type of repellents although I know I should

Last fall I started drinking acv. I put around 1.5oz in a glass, then dilute with water. Since then I have only found 1 tick “attached” to me, but it didn’t even leave a spot or itch. I had been chigger free up until a week or two ago and I’m starting to get them again now. ??‍♂️

I use the apple cider vinegar thanks to Nicodemus. Also use Sawyer spray. Can't remember a tick or a chigger and I am constantly in the Meriwether County "brush".

Glad we aren’t seeing any “ they ate me alive” posts. Hopefully everyone is doing something to prevent the bites.

Haven’t read the thread but just pulled a tick off my son’s nuts last weekend. I told him (9) it’s a right of passage. Thankfully his dad knows that the cigarette trick ain’t as good as old school tweezers.

At my little urban bow hunting place they’re so many of them big spiders I doubt if a bug is left on the place

I bush hogged a few hours yesterday at a property with narrow woods roads. I also trimmed some around some stands. I bet I saw 200 of those big Joro or Amazon spiders.

I have so much trouble healing I would be scared if I got what you guys did.

I keep at least 2 cans of 40% Deet and 2 cans of Permethrin in my truck all the time. I also have it on the golf cart and 4-wheeler.
I have a ritual of skin spraying and clothing spraying every day I am in the woods. Even when I'm riding the tractor.
I still get 1 or 2 occasionally.

I was a chigger magnet read about the Apple cider vinegar on this forum and have been Chigger free for the last 10 years and tick!
I do two tablespoons of Braggs apple cider vinegar every morning diluted in a little water. Another benefit is I haven’t taken a antacid tablet in as many years after a late night dinner!
and low cholesterol probably lol

I usually go with pickle juice and spray to keep them off of me, but this year, they have been feasting on me.
Maybe I'm not drinking enough beer this year?

Sawyers permethrin spray is the best chigger and tick repellent. Period. I rarely ever find a chigger bite. Spray your boots, socks, pants. It lasts for something like 20 laundry washings.

I am the high priest of the Church of Holy Permethrin. Clothes, boots and socks all get an overkill application of it with Deet applied in liberal amounts around my neck, wrists, arms, waist, ankles and shins/calves. I've seen too many stories on here about RMSF, Lyme and Alpha Gal and my luck ain't so swooft.
Im in attendance! I love my bucket hat and spray it with deet every time out. So much for scent control! No worries, smoke will cover that!
Permethrin over treatment on clothes has become the norm. I still take a thermacell with me, but haven’t used it much……the deet on the hat trick keeps bugs outta my face without actually getting it on it.

EVERYONE LISTEN,
I speak from experience so I know what I'm talking about. Protect yourself with whatever works when you go into the woods to keep ticks away. Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever was 4 months of misery for me last year and you do not want it. Fevers, chills, sweats, extreme fatigue, extreme ankle, wrist, and elbow swelling and pain, and rheumatism from the effects of it now.
Please, take every precaution.
