Another new brood of wood ducks yesterday

11 in this one.
Try and get a pic in the next day or two. Fast little boogers. They must have JUST emerged.
The survival rate of the first brood which also had 10-12 is down to 4.
@#$%^! Snapping turtles!!!
Only hatch of mallards (4) so far all survived. Geese doing well with 3 hatches so far.

...on the broods! My woodies didn't nest in my boxes this year. I cleaned them out as usual. My geese didn't either , she has nested there the last 3 seasons?? I think I have a mallard nesting in the reeds though. Her and a Drake were hanging around quite a bit, then I seen him alone the other day hanging out with the geese. Then I saw her just pop out when I was weed eating the lake, then she vanished, then 30 minutes later appeared then vanished. I stopped weed eating and let her be.
