OK guys/gals,

I've been working hard for months trying to get the "Let's Get Wild" Wildlife Conservation Program presented at my kid's Gwinnett County school and I just received an e-mail this morning that it's been approved! :D

The exact date is not set, but it looks like it will be in late November or early December. This is an awesome opportunity to reach 300 5th grade kids (and numerous educators) and educate them about wildlife, man's role in managing/conserving wildlife and much more. There are many, many reasons this will be very beneficial to the kids, a couple being to enlighten them about the benefits of hunting (many are automatically turned off by the word "hunter") and to teach them about unendangered wildlife (the only thing public schools teach that I've seen is about endangered species).

Here's where I need advice/help- I need to find some sponsors to help pay for the program. The cost is $850 and to help grease the skids I told the school that it wouldn't cost them or the PTA a dime. It's going to happen even if I have to pay it all out of my pocket, but obviously it would be great to get some sponsors to help out (they would be invited of course). I have a couple of ideas in mind, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

For those not familiar with the "Let's Get Wild" program, here's a small cut and paste from their website-

The "Let's Get Wild" program, founded in 1996 by Naturalist, Steve M. Scruggs, teaches children about man's role in managing America's wildlife. We are based in Watkinsville, Georgia and travel all over the Southeast with the program. We have had the pleasure of educating more than 750,000 kids targeting elementary and middle schools.

Using mounted specimen of deer, bear, turkey, skunk, beaver, ducks, fish, fox, otter, raccoon, bobcat, coyote, squirrel, rabbit, armadillo, swan, wild boar, hawks, owls, pheasant, quail, snakes and many others, we educate the next generation to not only enjoy what this generation has preserved but to learn how to manage it. We want the next generation to love the outdoors and understand their future responsibility in the conservation and preservation of our natural resources.

"Thank you for the fantastic and informative program...it enriched our AKS requirements ...provided students with a new and more personal view of how they can affect the world around them, in a global as well as local sense. Your enthusiasm was apparent...our students forgot they were learning!

"the program was a culminating activity for our study of Georgia Social Studies. ...It also tied into our science AKS about living organisms... a fun and exciting way for students to learn about wildlife of Georgia without even leaving our campus... definitely plan to schedule again.
