Baiting starts today up north..way up

Bear Baiting starts today in Maine.
My nephew baits and hunts bears. Last year he baited the entire month and had bears coming in for fourteen days straight. Then.
Nothing not one bear came the next two weeks and the four weeks of the bear season. He was very disappointed.
But this year a few days before the season that starts Sept 1st , out goes the bait. So a different strategy this year.

So, GA is fine with baiting deer, but not with bear.

That makes no sense at all.

And Maine doesn't allow Any Baiting for Deer.
Dump out a bucket of apples by your tree stand and get caught you'll be talking to the judge.

Legal to bait bear one month before the season starts September 1st.
But no deer baiting..

I hope GA never allows baiting for bear. I wasn't exactly on board when they legalized it for deer. Just not my idea of hunting and not a fair pursuit. That is just my opinion.

Gentlemen, whether we approve of baiting or not, it is legal for certain species and as such, there will be no bashing of any legal method of hunting. Some of you will be wise to go read the rules of the forum.
