Blanton WMA

Hey guys and gals! I have been stationed here in GA for 2 years now I primarily do archery hunting. Last year I hunted cedar creek And did well.
this year I’m wanting to hunt Blanton the first week of Archery season. I drew the Blanton 2nd quota hunt in nov and figured I could use this time to scout And learn the area. I drove down today a Few hours to check it out. Seen quite a bit of tracks. Some poop and few rubs. Im looking for some guidance on if there are certain areas early in the year you would recommend over others at Blanton. Hard-woods vs clear cut and food plots. I’m from the NW and used to hunting Elk and Mule deer. White tail is a whole new challenge. Any info on the area or tips would be much appreciated.

Blanton creeks a good area. Im down there often from Atlanta. I take it your at Benning. Ive got a few buddies down there and we all get together on the wmas. Let me know when your free and ill take you on the grand tour

Sir,
I'm active Air Force stationed at moody but run the MEPS for the Air Force on Ft. Gillem. I’ll be down there this upcoming weekend! Would love to meet up one day and just see what’s out there

During this time of the year just get in the bottoms with big acorn trees. The 2nd quota hunt just get where you can see. People running around in the woods looking will push deer.

Bow hunt Blanton a little every year, live about 5 minutes away, there are only a couple deer killed every year at Blanton during Archery season...It is very odd but i never see anything at Blanton during Archery. Usually kill a good buck every quota hunt I go on at Blanton and drew the same hunt as you for this year. Holler if you need any help!
