Those oysters look great. Also looks like a fine trip.
Jonesing for oysters bad. I am not good at shucking though. The ones I can't get to pop I carry out and place on porch rail. Take a hammer and break edge off until I have a gap I can get the knife in. Needless to say there are occasionally pieces of shell in those. She doesn't care for those. I don't mind so a win for me. Dang. Now I'm wanting em even more.

Put those on the grill for a little bit and they'll pop right open. Oh, and Kroger round here has them for a buck a piece... not as good as those.. but when you don't get seaside often...

Good tip Captain Jack. Price was about the same I think. 45 bucks for a sack of 50 if I remember correctly.

You get them from the oyster shack on 98?
Don't know the name. Pull behind trailer. Set up like a food truck parked in the store parking lot across the street diagonally from Huttons.

February in 22. Was too far up river or maybe too much fresh water and didn’t catch supper that trip but still managed to get the line stretched a time or 2. There all fun to catch.IMG_20220222_145026_986.jpgIMG_20220222_144926_002.jpgIMG_20220222_144925_123.jpgIMG_20220223_110016_403.jpgIMG_20220222_141504_575.jpgIMG_20220223_092839_732.jpg

If you want something really good, next time you make dressing, like for the turkey, add 10 or 12 oysters to the mix before baking.

Oyster dressing is killer.

Sweet Thang has been searching for a recipe for authentic oyster dressing. She tried to create something but didn't come out so well. She says without trying it she doesn't know how it should taste so difficult to create from scratch. Then with a starter recipe she can tweak it if necessary to our taste. If you have one she'd love to see it.

Can she make cornbread in a cast iron skillet?
Only dressing I've ever had was from cornbread.
