Browning blr 3006

Anyone own one of these? I like the idea of a 3006 lever gun but the price is high for a budget rifle guy like myself. A 3006 lever gun could be a deer or hog on the ground hunters best friend!

I have owned 6 BLRs and still have 3. While I understand the love many have for the venerable '06, I feel the BLR is not the best of platforms for the 30/06.

I MUCH prefer the SA version of the BLR and would suggest the very similar .308 or even the 300WSM in the BLR as lighter, shorter rifles with a noticeably shorter lever throw.

The three I now own are the .358, 325WSM and 450 Marlin. The .358 is a real sleeper and I prefer it over the 06 to 250 yards or even a tad more. Lots of new loads for it out there now, some of which match the 35 Whelen 200gr Remington load. (200gr @ 2675 FPS)

Super looking rifles !!!

I agree about them really shining in the short action cartridges.

How is the trigger pull on the BLR's? Just something I've wondered about.

I own a good number of rifles that I use and I have learned to simply deal with various feels and pull weights. That said, the .358 shoots sub MOA (225gr @ 2500) the .450 shoots right at an inch (325 LE) and the .325 shoots just over 1" (1 1/8") with 200gr XP3.

None of my 3 BLRs' triggers "bother" me.

If I offended you with that question please accept my apology. Ron
