Chinese chestnut

I came across an old thread where @NCHillbilly said these are short lived and disease ridden. I was drawn to them based on price and production. I’ve seen a few large old ones in yards, but have very little other experience. How short lived are these and what kind of disease pressure has anyone who has been around them experienced?

My Dad transplanted several from the Tellico mountains in the yard when I was very young (Late 60's). Cleaned up burrs for years and the last one died out after approx 40 years
