Deer Friday:
We live in an unhappy and confusing world but for the most part, life here on Crooked Creek is still relatively simple. While others are storing up guns and ammo in case "They" come I have one single shot 410 and a few shells scattered about in my bedroom armoire. The Scripture says that some trust in Chariots and horses but I will trust in the Lord my God. Why do I trust Him? I will be 70 years old three weeks from today and so far He has never disappointed me or let me down. I am blessed with a family and a group of friends that would make most men envious. I am still physically able to do things that many of my peers only dream about. Not only that but because of Jesus I have an eternal place in Heaven secured for me.
I hope that you will take time this Thanksgiving Season to examine yourself and see how blessed you really are. James 1:17 tells us that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights. James goes on to say that in God there is no variation or shadow of turning. I find peace and strength in knowing that I serve a God who never changes.
I look forward to next week as I try to continue to share some of God's creation and our simple life here on Crooked Creek. I hope you all have a blessed weekend and a very Happy Thanksgiving!
