Do you carry a firearm on your boat?

Reading the Forida ConCarry thread in the Firearms Forum made me wonder.
Do you carry on your boat?
I do depending on where I am.

I mostly kayak and am always armed. Boat ramps attract the unsavory. Some floats take me far from help, not going to do that unarmed.

Always, I have had some really interesting encounters on the water and at the ramp at night.

I’ve never had to use it, but t I’ve had it in my hoodie pocket a few times walking to my truck after dark….

Always...

In Everglades National Park, the Coast Guard made me hand them the bag that my pistol it was in. They gave the bag back when they finished the "safety-inspection".

They told me not to open the bag until they we out of sight.

I think they had me out-gunned with that Ma Deuce they had mounted in the bow of their boat anyway.

When running offshore, there is at least 1 pistol and a Mossberg Mariner on-board.

I would like to have a rifle as well, but I haven't seen anything as corrosion resistant as I would like.

Did you know that Glock made a Model 19 Mariner?

I snagged one!

Anyone know the rules on carrying past the 9 mile line in Fed waters?

That's my only concern.

Yep, especially when we go into the Croatan National Forest and use the boat ramps there.
