I'd like to try my hand at knapping.
Anybody have any flint, or some other good knapping material?
Let me know of what you may be interested in trading for.
Thanks.
I can get some here in middle Ga and even have a little bit of stuff I got in Missouri. The Missouri stuff has been easy to work. I am far from being able to produce consistent quality points but it is a fun craft to learn.
BUT, I have more, the first couple of pics of the brown stuff is chert, its a compressed algea I dig up in the same level as my coral, both pinhead and polyped. It knaps raw and is pretty slick
or, you can get with Richard aka twobears, good peoples, he sell practice rock real cheap and its better than most peoples grade A stuff. I do good deals but I dont give it away, too hard to dig up
where are you in S. Fl? OUr best knapper Claude Van Order just moved from Lakeland to Ocala but there are some awesome knappers down your way that learned from him and then took it to the next level. Roger aka Bonepile makes some killer Newnans and hilly`s he is around Punta Gorda
