That's what I use to do in a strawberry patch as a kid til that mean old farmer got a red rider BB... He was accurate out to about 150 with those iron sights...Nowadays though, in my old age, I just eat the watermelon in the field, climb the fence and go home.

Tracy Byrd : Watermelon crawl.
man selling watermelons in the parking lot, had a truck bed full.
$10 for a red about the size of a soccer ball.
$15 for an orange meat, I always called it yellow, about the size of a basket ball or so.
$20 for a red meat oblong old timey type. Not the great big one but 18-20 inches long.
Seems way too high.
How much y'all pay? Normally. Not when a craving hits.
Naw just depends on where you are at. We got a watermelon truck or two in town and a couple local farmers markets. I bet yall got some round there.I love watermelon last one I bought from Walmart was a biggun paid 7 bucks for it not fit to eat. Too much nitrogen had been added to the crop.
We rarely see anyone that sells watermelons and other good farm products beside the road anymore, I guess that's mostly a thing of the past now.
