I have always been a longbow guy ever since I bought a Pearson "Big Ben" longbow back in the middle 1970's.
I just always liked the look and feel of a Hill style longbow and I have owned and hunted with a good many.
I have never had a good recurve but I always liked the looks of a good take down and have lusted over a Bighorn back in the day. I owned an old Browning and I had a big heavy metal risered Black Widow HF-500 but nothing modern.
I tried some friends recurves and could never seem to shoot them well, but the idea to own one was always in the back of my mind.
An experience with a ladder stand and a Double bull blind convinced me to give a shorter bow a try.
I got a pretty good deal on a Zipper recurve, 62" 46@ 28. Riser is Curly Maple,Bubinga and Kings Wood. The Limbs are Elm vaneers.
I fletched up some Vapor Arrows for it and boy does this baby shoot.
I always had a terrible left/right problem when shooting recurves but not with this one. They fly true and hit hard.
Now I am not giving up my HH Cheetah or Wesley but I do plan to give this Zipper some air time too.
