The City of Sugar Hill is seeking a dedicated, highly motivated individual to serve as Operations Support in the Sugar Hill IT/IS Department. This position provides technical support to end-users and ensures all computers, networks, telecom services and information systems are efficient, functional, technically sound, and up to date.
This position delivers quality support by providing prompt service and resolution to problems as they arise. The individual needs to have a good working knowledge of the day to day windows operating environment, available tools, operating techniques and end user applications. Must possess great customer service and organizational skills and have the ability to think through and solve problems effectively. The qualified candidate will show the ability to quickly learn and apply new technology.
The position will require you to keep and maintain accurate and detailed records of all end user workstations, peripheral devices and network servers (inventory/documentation), perform regular routine maintenance on computer network systems and assist in the research of government technology demands, issues and best practices.
Skill Set:
Ability to perform advanced computer troubleshooting and machine rebuilds
Troubleshoot complex printer, server and network issues
Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (2000, XP, Vista & Windows 7)
Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010 Productivity Suite
Troubleshoot software applications and hardware.
Veritas Backup Exec
Symantec Endpoint Protection
Microsoft WSUS, ISA, IIS
Dell software and hardware
Telecom skills and experience in voice and data communication, experience helpful
Audio Visual experience helpful
Work on special projects as assigned
Education/Certifications
Technical degree or 3 years equivalent work experience
A+ or Network + Certification
At least one vendor software certification (e.g. MCSE, MCP, CLS)
Requirements:
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
The candidate must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of the Comptia A+, Network + and Security +, or Microsoft industry certifications, (MCSE, MCP).
