Lake Russell crappie give me fits!

After trolling season they seem to disappear on me. I don't have any trouble with Clarks Hill crappie but these Russell ones don't usually want to cooperate.. but when I do find some they are some DONKEYS!!!

I kept a few today and released these big ones to fight another day!

Good for you. I had an awful year fishing for crappie on Russell this year. I gave up and went back to catching the Spots.

No shame in that. When they come off the spawn it's like they are swallowed by the world . I can go and catch 30 most any day on clarks hill by myself. That's not the case on Russell.
