Lanier or Oconee Big Water

Has anyone had any success, duck or goose, so far hunting either of these lakes, big water? Would you say it's more hunting in coves or out on the big water?

Years ago when Oconee was first flooded there was flooded timber on the NE side of the lake that offered excellent hunting. From what I've heard, that timber has now died and fallen in for the most part.

I think they cut the timber below the water line when they started leasing building lots. It seems that Oconee was originally intended to be a no residential dock lake. I think if that was the case Russell took its place.
Remember I said I think not I know.
