You can sometimes find some BlackOvis on CamoFire for a discount. I like that merino-synthetic blend for hot and for cool temps. Just my opinion.

Merino wool all the way for a base layer. I even wear the merino wool blend short sleeve shirt during the summer.
I wear the Black Ovis brand. You can purchase it via Black Ovis or keep watch at Camofire...I have purchased a lot of hunting clothing (Kryptek and Black Ovis merino wool) the last few years via Camofire. I've only has to send one item back to them, and their customer service was excellent.

I also wear the merino wool beanie and gloves (when it's really cold, I put a heavier glove over the merino gloves.
