I will start it off with my 10 day bowhunt in Southeast Iowa.Weather was TERRIBLE.I started hunting Nov 4th with temp in the mid to upper 70's.Lows were in the high 40'.The mornings started getting warmer as the week went on.Temps were like this for my first 6 days, wondering if I were in Georgia or Iowa. The rut was no where near what I expected,it was the weather right?Well a front came, dropped the highs to low 50's,and mornings to 29.Oh yeah,I thought.I got 3 more days, its gonna be on,,,,NOT.That first cold morning,I seen a good bit of action, but the big deer were on lock down I do believe. The last day I hunted, the morning started off at 22,with a high of 40,,,prime time I would think.Still nothing as you would expect for a cold frosty 22 degree morning in Iowa.I did see on the roads, jumped 1 buck bedded at 100pm,coming back to my cabin after a evening some biggggg deer.Beautiful country up there, its just a shame I have to wait 4 yrs to go back.Im not waiting,I think Kansas or Ohio is better from what I experienced.I know the weather had a big role in my hunt,so there is my experience in Iowa.Sorry for all the pics, just wanted to share some of the bucks I was after on the farms I hunted.
