Minnesota DNR Blew Up Illegal Tree Stands with Dynamite

A Native American builds a tree stand on forest land WITHIN his own Reservation. The Leach Lake man hunts from the stand for ten years. The two stands were never "hidden" and everyone locally knew about the stands and the hunter. From the story, "enrolled member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, and that the land in question is within the Leech Lake Reservation."

Then the Blue state bureaucrats blow it up because they say the forest is also a state park and stands are illegal. Seems to me we need a serious readjustment in the attitude of all surviving bureaucrats whether state of fed.

Dynamite for a stand like that? Yeah, that was overkill and a waste of resources. A 4 wheeler and a tow strap could have likely pulled it down.
Why take it down at all? It was on the reservation. I question if they had juris-my-diction and if they did they shouldn’t.
