New mouth calls

It has been years since I bought new diaphragm calls and just got some new ones.

In the cases are two plastic (what looks like paper clips) clips, what are they in there for? Never in the past have any of the calls I've bought had them.

Maybe some kind of reed saver.

Yep they are to put between the reeds.

no need to use them.. for roughly 10.00/call.. they are good for the season. purchased some houndstooth calls last year and they still sound good.. just got to warm them up on they way to the woods.. (in the truck)
