A patch is no different than a button or tear. And yes my mother taught me to sew and I can still use her sewing machine that sits in a spare bedroom.

She taught me how to make tents on it after making a pattern out of newspaper.

Lotta bland baked stuff and packaged meals. don't recall a single meal that I wish I could replicate. My brothers n I became the family cooks once we reached a certain age, 12 or so, and then the next took over when he got that age. It was for the best.

Mostly what I've seen is a bunch of casseroles and stuff made with cream of mushroom soup, no bread, bitter hot tea, baked meat and fish, and whatnot. No wonder they have dour attitudes.

The word "seasonings" ain't in their dictionary. I ordered fried chicken once in Massachusetts. They called what they served me "fried chicken". I'll give them this much, it was chicken underneath all the crap that was supposed to be the fried part.

That's when they gettin' fancy. Nothing from scratch. At least not in the house I grew up in and when visiting all my yankee relatives. Even though I gots yankee roots, I grew up mostly down here, and I think the only time I ever et home made mac n cheese was at the old timey church pot luck dinners. Those old southern ladies sure nuff knew how to cook, and I still remember those as the best meals I have ever eaten.

I started as a welder. Took about two years to decide I didn’t want to do it for 35 years.

We beat up most of the Boy Scouts in our town. It may not be that way in every town, but they were mostly sissy kids who tattled to teachers and monitored the halls.
