I wear a straw hat with a green visor built into the front part of the brim for work and gardening. Wear a Stetson when I`m slicked up and-or wearing a suit.
I was thinking one like that. Does the sun get through the mesh enough to burn a bald head?
That’s a big 10-4, picking lady finger peas is slow but shelling them is real slow. You can pick a bucket full of watermelon pretty quick.I just use the same hat it just takes me longer to pick a bucket of okree. maters and squash fill the bucket faster..
Haven’t seen one of those green visor straw hats in a good whileI wear a straw hat with a green visor built into the front part of the brim for work and gardening. Wear a Stetson when I`m slicked up and-or wearing a suit.

Tractor Supply carried them for a year or two then quit. The Redhead found some online and ordered me a supply of them.
I haven't found them anywhere. I drove from here to Dothan last year and checked a couple of places, but no luck. That is what everyone wore in a field when I was younger. Lightweight, cool and good neck coverage from the sun. I will buy a half dozen if I stumble on them again.
I have been able to get a smaller version called a gambler, but it is not wide enough for my liking.
I wear a palm leave hat I think its handmade in Guatemala good brim and light keep the sun off of you. my Okree picking hat
I like my Shelta so I’ll second the good reviews.Shelta has really good reviews.
We don't make them big enough for @livinoutdoors tater

????Late to the party. Dad worked as a letter carrier and swore by the uniform pith helmets. Back in the day they were a hard body covered with some sort of cloth. They had an internal frame that let air circulate everywhere that the sweat band didn't cover. After he retired he still liked to garden and bought some newer ones. They were solid with no cloth covering but he was satisfied. I know that I used to have one. If you are interested, I will see if I can find it. Just the thing to wear while scythe swinging. LOL
Got a Columbia brand hat that's very similar to that one and it has held up well for me.Update!
So i went with the @treemanjohn suggested
Outdoor research sombriolet sun hat in green. I hope it holds up cuz this is by far the most comfortable sun hat ive ever tried. Like i said i got a bald noggin so this hat works great with its covered vented mesh. Thanks again!
