Old Tobacco Barns: Update

fishingtiger, I must say I respect what you are doing with these pieces of our Americana and giving them new life. My grandmother on my mom's side was born and raised in east Tennessee on a tobacco farm. I spent many summer's and years running those woods and pastures in her same childhood area. So I sure can appreciate you putting all that beautiful wood back to use. Awesome pics and thread. Please keep up that good work and put all of it to use you can. Keep us all updated.

Both my grandfathers still used their fuel oil fired curing barns till the early 80's. We still had mules pulling sleds in the fields till 1978 when they died. The barns are still there in great shape. The pack barn still smells like cured leaf in burlap.

This was northern North Cackalackie.
