My most memorable hunt ever. It was in west central Ohio. I had tagged out the day before on a 174”. I watched and video’d this boy walk by me trailing a doe. I will never forget how awesome it was seeing the steam roll out of his nostrils. He was an absolute giant. 20” + inside.

It was in the low 20's that morning in December. I was originally in a tower stand further down to the right, but with a 45/70 my shots were going to be limited. I kept seeing deer come out into the field to my left so I went and nestled in a fallen tree on the field edge. I couldn't see over the rise in the field in front of me. You can see it where he is standing. I wasn't really expecting much, but all of a sudden I heard a grunt and the crunching of deer walking on the frozen ground. I eased up every so slightly from my chair and saw and 2 does walking to me and he was behind them. I could have shot him 1,000 times. I have about a minute long video of him cruising by me.
