Found a large base today, must have been a very large point. Can anybody I'd it from the base alone? Was laying on a sandbar in the Savannah River near Screven County.

With those barbs and wide base it reminds me of a Wacissa. Possibly a Savannah River.

Thanks for the input. I was unaware of atlatls. It does resemble a wacissa point. It is the first stone tool I have found that wasn't just a maybe. I really enjoy learning more about these artifacts. Best of all, my daughter was fishing with me and picked this one up. You would have thought we found gold!
