It's a variation of a Wharncliff style blade. Handles most cutting needs, but has a bit of a hooked curve for ripping. I have found them very effective for busting open the occasional wild hog or two. I also keep a few around for cutting leather while making sheaths and other leather projects - different sizes for different types of leather.
