Savage 25 walking varminter magazine

I have a savage 25 walking varminter 22 hornet. Extremely accurate rifle with hand loads 35 grain v max and 45 grain speer jsp. I have alot of nosler 40 grain varmint bullets that make the Col too long for the magazine but the chamber is cut long enough to accommodate them. Has anyone attempted to use a 223 mag in the hornet to run a longer COL in this rifle? I know the magazines are the same excluding the block in the hornet mags.

Or does anyone know of a single feed mag, these things are impossible to single feed without a sled.

I have the same rifle. Extremely accurate, sub MOA at 100, really likes the 35 gr Hornady also. Since I only shoot factory, the short magazines haven’t been an issue for me.

My main gripe with the rifle is the cheap plastic stock. Bought a Boyd’s laminate to upgrade. Fun little rifle.
