Snack stick dilemma

those snack sticks are good but i've regulated myself to making just summer sausage, got a 30lb recipe down pat.....10 3lb sticks.....i cut the sticks in half and vacuum seal.....

With pork I'm partial to Hickory. Do you recommend a different wood?
If that's the flavor you like, stick with it.
My point was, if the smoke is too heavy, it will actually seal off the holes you made in the casing.
I'm just saying what worked for me.

To add:
When I made a long push, I would twist the casing about every 10 inches. Seemed to fill better.
