I put a Bambi shoulder in the crockpot last night . Paired it with some rice and garden goods . My goodness this was good

Finally took the time to go get some gas for the flattop-3 empty tanks for about 3 weeks now!
Went with a
Teriyaki chicken fried rice bowl…

Good eating ya'll, started using up the ground venison we have left. Wound up having more than we thought, I forgot my sister sent us what they had left, so were going to have to use it up. Mrs Brown made up some taters n onions to go with the burgers and dogs.

I've done better steaks, but I've done a lot worse, too. Yellow potatoes in duck fat and parmesan, corn from the garden mixed up with green chiles, cream, Cumin, and shredded cheese, some buttered homemade bread, and a shamefully big chunk of coconut custard pie.

Hanging out in the Panhandle for a few days. Grilled some stuff. Some shrimp and most of the kielbasa is going in some grits Sweet Thang is planning for breakfast. Ate everything else.

Believe it or not that backstrap was in the freezer with a 2017 date on it. When you put up deer meat yourself, it last longer. That meat was just as fresh as new. Beautiful red meat. He marinated it all day so it lost a bit of pretty color but it was still red on the inside. Saran wrap on the inside wrapped in freezer paper.

Smoked pig loin BBQ sandwich with homemade sauce and kettle chips for me. Sliced fresh tomatoes with sea salt and black pepper.
