Sweet corn and bush beans

What are y’all’s preferred varieties for these? I grew provider beans last year and they produced and tasted good. I grew providence sweet corn and while it tasted good when I grew it previously, it tasted like starch this go around. I checked it nearly every day and waited to pick until it was ripe, but maybe I waited too long? Right now I have provider beans in the cart and solstice sweet corn. Anything else I’ve got to have in your opinion?

For corn I like Ambrosia and Peaches And Cream. For beans I`ve always liked Kentucky Wonder.

I dont have much knowledge of corn, we always did silver queen but that was years ago and we didnt really plant enough to get a good crop- didnt know it was wind pollinated.
Beans we always do contender GB.
And love Purple hull peas, (pink knuckle or Hercules (I think) they are getting hard to find, dont like pink eye they are like black eye. I like the big fat purple hull peas (Crowder style)

Thanks fellas. I need to plant a fair amount of beans this year so I’ll add some kentucky wonders and see how it compares. I knew I could count on y’all. Nic, ambrosia was my favorite prior to going to the super sweets. Probably should have just stuck with it

I’ve grown temptress sweet corn the past two years. It’s really sweet, great on the cob but I think I prefer a little more starch in my cream if that makes sense. For bush beans I stick with the tried and true blue lake.

My wife always wants blue lake. Thinks they are easier to string. I like any kind of home grown corn. How sweet is not a big deal to me. Truckers Favorite lived up to the reputation of doing good in hot dry weather and I'll plant it again this year to make sure I have plenty to freeze. The Stowell's Evergreen was good cooked fresh picked, but the yield was low. I'll try some again this year to see if it does better.
