I'm planning a fall Cohutta Wilderness hunt and am hoping for a bear. Can anyone recommend a taxidermist that would make a bearskin rug if I get lucky? Ideally, somewhere between Cisco and Atlanta, but quality is more important than convenience. Thanks, y'all!
My buddy Bob Gaeta lives off aska rd right near blue ridge. He’s a phenomenal taxidermist. If you kill one near cohutta, hes close and very reasonable.
I can say with a bit of experience on this though, everyone wants a rug or half mount but just tanning the hide and having the skull cleaned is usually a way better option. Much cheaper and equally enjoyable.
