My wife is from New Mexico and before her mother moved here we'd go there to visit. In New Mexico they sell and roast green chile on the side of the road like they sell boiled peanuts here. You buy however many you want and they will roast them for you for free. There are these barrel shaped baskets that turn over a jet burner and in a few minutes they are roasted. Put them in a paper bag and by the time you get home they are ready to peel and freeze. The smell around those places is amazing!

for $1.99 at Kroger.
Now what?!?

As in what are some good recipes from those on here.
Already researched online for a few ideas.
And based on reviewing the thread, they freeze nicely?

I look for the hatch brats at the local Kroger last Sunday. They were out.

If you want to freeze some I'd char 'em up on the grill and then put them in a bag, the steam will help them to peel.
