This turkey season in SW Georgia

Gone But Not Forgotten
Have seen bad turkey seasons before, but this one has topped all before. Weather will save lots of gobblers. It's been overcast, windy or raining especially on weekends. Or it seems like weather has been picking weekends to show it's self. Have been a few times with only one day what I would call a nice day for turkey hunting. At this point, haven't heard a gobble, haven't seen one strut, and have had no gobbler come to the call. Had several hens come to the call, decoy or not. Even with a mature gobbler in the distance watching. Never strutted, gobbles or showed any interest. Wet weather isn't friendly to nesting either, Some nest could be under water, to cold, wet and plenty will be destroyed by predators including hogs. It's too wet to plant plots in our woods as well. But we still have a few with a good stand of clover.
