welding question

trial&error

Senior Member
After decades of welding I was running into mig splatter issues with a new miller gun. I think it was a line purge issue with my gas supply. I bought some nozzle gel as cheap insurance. Day 2 using it and I knocked it off the cart and cracked the lid. So my question is does it dry up and do I need to fix the lid? Or perhaps melt it and put it into a new container? At my age and the time I actually get to weld lately it would have probably lasted my lifetime.

Back in the day I’d see open bottles around the shop for a while, never seemed to dry up…and for sure that hot tip will melt down any remaining quickly.

Not had any go bad so far. My jar is close to 20 yrs old. I'm not a big time welder and by no means a pro, but I use it every time I do any extended welding work.
