Well, dangnammit, the yellow flies are HERE!!!

Summer is here. sure sign they will chase a truck down a dirt road.

I absolutely hate those things. They stay out of our yard for the most part but the will wear you out going down the driveway or any other road on the property.

Seems like they like to hang out around tree lines. They don't usually bother me in an open area or in thick woods.

They started about a week ago and are some kind a awful down here in Carrabelle.

Get some tanglefoot, put a wad on a paper or plastic plate and pin it to your cap. You’ll look funny, but it will catch many yellow flies that try to attack you. Guaranteed.

Super sticky insect trap substance is about all I can tell you. I’ve caught over 25 yellow flies at the time while walking and wearing that plate.

Never heard of em until we got the place in Sopcboppy. Pulled in and they swarmed around the truck. Thought it was yellow jackets. Relieved to find out it wasn't. Pretty soon I wished it had been yellow jackets cause I could get rid of them. Yellow flies are relentless.

That area of Florida and east and west of there is the worse I've ever seen.
