WMA Restrictions

This year is my first year hunting GA public land, specifically Blue Ridge WMA. I'm in need of clarification on the "Buck Only" dates:

Blue Ridge WMA (Buck Only):

• Nov. 1-5
• Nov. 22-25

Fannin and Union County (Antlered Deer Only):

• Nov. 10- Dec. 31

Chattahoochee National Forest (Antlered Deer Only):

• Nov. 10- Dec. 31

Does this mean I can hunt either sex in the WMA during firearm season but only bucks during the WMA dates or no hunting the WMA outside of the buck only dates posted for this WMA/

It means there are no either sex days on that WMA this year and you can only hunt deer (bucks only) during those days.

This^^^ That said, check small game dates. I know we love to deer hunt, but if small game is open, you can scout and go after Pigs with small game weapons…..I take my .22mag.
The WMA info pages this year didn’t add the small game season dates. MY understanding is that they all coincide with state dates. BUT, if they do not, then the open dates for that WMA will be posted. I know it’s not exactly what you are asking, but it’s a great way to scout and learn the WMA…….GOOD LUCK!
