I’m no expert, but it was some kind of canine. Lol. And if would have slowed for half a second, it would have toted a rage. Heck, I may have mounted the thing. It was absolutely gorgeous.
I was seeing up to 3 black ones at a time in 2018 on my place. Always on my driveway when I would go out at night. And caught them on camera. I killed 2 and had a trapper come in to help me with the coyote population, in 5 days he trapped 8 and 6 were black. In 4 years between what he trapped and I killed, 16 coyotes were taken off my property. Haven’t seen a black one since 2018. And my neighbor killed 2 black ones the year before about 500 yards from my house. They’re real. The trapper was an older man that said from his “studies” and talking with biologist, they come from breeding with red wolves years ago when they were more populated in the Appalachian mountains. I found a pic I still have on my phone. I shot this one from my porch one morning before work and took the pic that afternoon.
