Theme for week forty eight:

Reflection

Have a great week and as usual, the interpretation is completely up to you!

A small pond near our house. The reflections are much better when there is snow, but no such luck this week.

I thought to myself when I saw the topic this week - "I bet I get a shot to share this week!" (Of course, I've thought that to myself on more than one week in the past... And even thought long & hard about the shot & gotten it - only to find out that I've thought so long & hard that it is a week or more late!). But this week, I'm on it!

I had thought about doing some sort of object (seed, rock, frog, lizard, etc. on a mirror), and I thought about a bird reflected in water. When I thought about the bird reflected in water, I was envisioning the whole bird AND the whole reflection. When I got this opportunity this morning, I was too close to get the whole bird & reflection (at first anyway - I did manage a bit later), so for a while, I concentrated on getting the sharpest image of the reflection that I could. My autofocus refused to focus on the reflection in the water today, so I was forced to rely on manual focus.

Anyway, here it is...

Nikon D300s, Nikkor 400 mm, f/5.6, 1/200th second, ISO 320, beanbag, slight crop, existing light.

Kind of runnin late on this but got this shot yesterday but had to wait all day for the wind to die down then only got one chance at the shot before the battery went dead from the cold.
