Age

generally speaking an older buck will start to have darken or staining extend down the forehead below the antlers. As well as hocks than stain and go down the back leg. That’s more prevelant when the scraping and rutting starts. That’s in conjunction with all the other aspects already mentioned above in this thread with the body characteristics… from what I know of whitetail deer hunting ( I am far from an expert nor do I have any degrees in this area ) if you have time with your eyes pictures etc and based on the geographical area you hunt there are things you can look at that might indicate more of an older buck than a younger buck. I just don’t see anything on this deer that shows he has any age to him.. long legs etc this is just my opinion on this.. want to know exact kill him and send a tooth of for testing
