I know some people who've found several without even looking over in west Oglethorpe County. Points and pottery, I believe; don't know anything more about them.

Found a shoebox full in eastern Clarke, Oglethorpe and Madison counties. Used to grow soybeans in the 70’s when I was a kid and I would watch for them while plowing and cultivating and when I saw one I would stop and pick it up. Made my Dad mad cause he wanted the tractor moving. Almost all were quartz, most were broken but a lot were not. I found 2 at the base of large oak tree where I retired from after all the pine straw had blown away that myself and dozens of other people walk by right outside my old office. Yes plenty of artifacts can be found in that area if you have a place to look.

Went on a dove shoot many years ago in the outskirts of Ila and not many doves but did find several nice points. Property was owned by Jack Davis and he lost his life in a tractor accident on the property. Franklins in Athens can probably tell you where the property is and current owner.

They are all over this area. Anywhere there is water and a low slope hill therms will be there.

These are all from Oconee county near the Clark county line.
