Barrel cut down?

Has anyone ever had a barrel cut down and threaded? I read somewhere that comp n choke offers that service I think. I have a 28” barrel benelli which is now a back up gun but I’d like to cut the barrel down to a 24”.

I've had Curtis in Eastanolee cut a 28" down to 23 and thread it for my extended chokes.
Depends on your barrel. He explained how the barrel must have the right thickness left in order to cut threads.
I like the shortness, quickness, mobility of the shotgun but it'll never have the pattern and accuracy of the original 28" with turkey choke because of the graduating forcing cone has changed.
