Mr. Pappy
I live about 3 miles from it. You can park just off Hwy 184, about a mile south of the Hwy 184 & Dicks Hill Parkway on the right side of the road, and hike the eastern slope. If you have some in your group that aren't able to to that, go west on Dicks Hill Parkway for about 3 miles, and you will see an area on the left with a marque about the 506th, turn left on that dirt road, and it will take you to the top of Currahee. There is a military museum in downtown Toccoa where they moved the stable where the 506th stayed to prepare to jump.

Also, just past where you turn to drive up the mountain, there is part of the original buildings from the camp, and there is a C47 on display, the type of plane they jumped from.

They always have a big shindig on Memorial Day weekend with a hanger dance at the airport complete with 40's decor and people dressed as then. It is usually the Friday night or Saturday night before Memorial day. Sometimes a C47 will fly in on Saturday morning, and some people jump from it over the airport.
