Climate change and " the x thing you love is going to die out" sell magazines and get donations for organizations that promise they are working hard to fight it. The end.

They have won the war of words thats for sure. Banned most of the critics from youtube and the like. Now there is only one side of the story being seen.
As a side note, when i hear information on a subject that i have no way to verify for certain, i try to use clues like behavior to see if there is truth there. For instance, if a friend tells me that steak is bad for you, yet they eat it every day, i know they dont believe what they are saying. When the worlds rich and powerful park their jets, close down their seaside mansions, move to a hut with no electricty, and on their knees beg us to do the same to save the planet, i will believe that they believe what they are saying.

The "war of words" is much more important than most people realize. Words define beliefs, whether real or imagined and beliefs go on to later shape the culture and future generations. To most folks, though - they're just words that don't mean anything until one day they look up and ask " how did we get HERE?"

I offer a similar analysis when someone starts in on global warming. I grew up in southern Indiana. I used to find sea creature fossils all the time.
It may be 'here to stay' in the news, pseudo-science and government, but I'm on the 'it's a wealth re-distribution scheme' bandwagon, and I have an Environmental Science degree, and have worked in the 'industry' for 35 years.
This is my favorite graph about global temps and CO2.... actual science shows the earth's average temp is about 7 degrees C warmer than it is now, and the average CO2 levels are about 1500 ppm (now, they are about 410 ppm).
Systems seek equilibrium.

Interesting, but wouldn't cold blooded dinosaurs be more comfortable in warmer climates? Thus if it was warmer back then, all the better. We have warm blooded mammals now (in addition to cold blooded retiles & whatnot) so a slightly cooler climate would be tolerable. Granted this has nothing to do with temperatures since humans have existed, just curious.

Some of us are old enough to remember back in the 70s when the scientists were all just as convinced that we were heading into another ice age because of human pollution.
My daddy gave me one when I was a teenager old enough to get my first job. He said, "You'll need one of these now."
I asked him. "What does it do?"
He said, "It keeps hot things hot, and cold things cold. "
So I went off to work with a quart of hot coffee and a grape popsicle in it. I thought it failed miserably.

Yes, when I was in elementary school they told us an ice age could be coming soon. Just like the metric system, that didn't quite pan out!

"Saving the planet" is a rediculous line
The extremest should be saying that they want the planet to stay the same so they can save themselves to live as they know it.
This planet will be just fine. It will do what it does with or without my work truck.

Yeah...I remember. Back in the 60-70-80's we used to have a pretty good snow 2-3 times each winter. Sometimes it was a real snow of 4-6". But the last one I recall was nearly 30 years ago.
Now we get snow maybe a couple times a year, and it barely covers the grass.
Weather is cyclical.
