On Friday, 18 December, my wife Tina Marie (Red) was required to take a COVID test prior to her surgery on the following Monday. The phone rings Monday morning informing her that She has tested positive for the COVID virus, but to go ahead and plan on coming in for the surgery on her pinky finger that was badly broken after an incident with our golf cart and the trash can (another story). “Be here at 1:30 for registration please” they told her. So off to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton for the surgery that “will only take about 30 minutes” to accomplish. We arrive at 12:45 and wait until 1:30 to go in. Donning our masks in respect for others, we find a small fortress at the information desk. The person behind the desk is nearly muted by her mask and the thick plexiglass shield between us. “WHAT? WHERE DO I PEE? IN THE PARKING LOT!” getting a few chuckles from the small crowd. “Go wait in your car until we call you” we were told. So we wait until nearly 2:00 when we go BACK inside to see what the deal is. “Have you registered?” Well NO!we were told to wait in the car for our phone to ring! “We will send a registrar to your car in a few minutes” we were told. Now there’s a SEA of 2000+ cars in the parking lot of this facility, and we’re wondering how in Sam Hill is this “registrar” person is gonna find our “Gray Murano” in such a massive number of cars. UNBELIEVABLE! We take initiative and go back to the front of the facility to try to see someone resembling a “registrar” , sure enough, here She comes, clipboard in hand confused, but intent on finding the needle in the haystack that is our Murano. “You looking for a Gray Murano?” I asked her... “Why YES! How did you know? “Just lucky I guess” I told her. This incident was just the tip of the massive iceberg that we were up against. What kind of MORON tells their employee to go find a particular car in a lot of 2000+!?
They take Red on up, and say they will keep me posted. Red calls me crying several times in the next 6, yes SIX hours of her waiting in seclusion in a small room. At 6:45, after waiting some 5 hours, She calls and says She’s out front waiting for me to pick her up... The Doctor came in and said that he was ready to do the procedure, but said it could take 2 more hour for the Operating Room to be ready. At that point, Red left and called me to pick her up.
NEVER in my 59 years have I EVER experienced such incompetence in a health facility.
Today is day 9 after her COVID diagnosis, and we BOTH remain symptom free. The hospital has never called to check on her, or suggest any options for her... Guess Red will have a gimpy pinky!

While maybe not all to that extreme, trying to do anything medically related is akin to scheduling a meeting with the Pope. Can’t do the simplest thing and most, not all, of the admin types in the various offices don’t give a rip about customer service.

I need to have an outpatient surgical procedure. Got diagnosed in September. I finally got a surgery date - 1/18/21. The 'Ronas has screwed up everything worse than a wooden watch in a thunderstorm.

We have gone through 3 outpatient procedures since Covid got here. All were hurry up and wait.
My wife’s knee surgery took ALL DAY for a 40 minute procedure.

That's bad but its gonna get worse with socialism.
We had that here. Sure, its good to walk out without a bill lingering over your head. But the downside is the perpetual wait for healthcare. A few friends have died waiting for it. One friend kept complaining of a pain in his chest. Dr wrote it off as a pinched nerve for 3 years. Then, in November of 2016, he finally took a closer look and found it was cancer. Johnnie died 3 months later.... not a single treatment was given. If he held out until January the following year, he would get some treatment.

After I was run over by a car, I waited 4 years for a hip replacement.

The Kung Cooties has shut down all medical, govt and judicial services here. As if socialized medicine wasn't bad enough, now it much worse. DR appts are now by phone only
