We planted some trees in November and I guess one of the local bucks was feeling rutty. Just happened night before last. I mean, what are they doing still holding anyway? Dadgummit.
Hope they survive.

It’s the fresh wood chips around the bottom . He thought another buck had made them from rubbing the tree

IMG_4210.jpegIMG_4205.jpegFeel your pain.

Ours get pounded. Pears and sawtooths - they don’t care.

Our sawtooths are starting to crown now and they make scrapes under them, which is ok - but they are tearing the lower limbs off.

May have to shoot a few of the jokers.

Good luck!

Been close to pulling the hog wire from around our pear trees but that makes me think different. 5 years old and about 6” diameter. Will give it a little longer .
