I cut the sweet gum off about 12" from the ground.Take a paper towel and dip in straight roundup.Put paper towel over top of stem and secure with twine or a rubber band.Kills the tree and not the schrubbery.Sweetgums are fun. Roots shouldn't be any more than 30" deep. Then they come back.
Can you smear some roundup on them?
Well next time anyway.
I got one growing up in a bush. Probably kill the bush getting it out.
Don,t forget to add surfactant to the TSC glysophate. It had actually come down a little the last time I looked. Maybe $80 for 2 1)2 gallons. Sometimes you can catch it on sale.
I usually mix it about 3 oz to a gallon
4 oz to a gallon will kill privet easy.
No haven’t heard that one. I’ve had them tall enough that I had to carry a long stick to pull them over to reach the top pods. Seems like@cracker Dave suggested cutting the top off about two feet high to get them to bush out.Have you ever heard to drop the seed from the height you want the stalk to be ?
I did that once and the okra only grew 1 " and died.Have you ever heard to drop the seed from the height you want the stalk to be ?
Once mine get 6 ft I top them and make them bush out 3 times the pods and don,t have to reach for them.No haven’t heard that one. About the time they get head high it’s about time to bushhog them, after you get next year’s seed.Once mine get 6 ft I top them and make them bush out 3 times the pods and don,t have to reach for them.
What's that do?Don,t forget to add surfactant to the TSC glysophate.
I always let the pods in late August dry on the vine ,then bring inside for next year's seeds.About the time they get head high it’s about time to bushhog them, after you get next year’s seed.
Yep as long as they get dry before frost kills them you’re goodI always let the pods in late August dry on the vine ,then bring inside for next year's seeds.
It makes the chemical "stick to what you spray it on.Waxyplants like ivy, poison oak, sweetgum trees etc. What's that do?
I've never messed much with chemicals, I'm new to this.
Me and Bow both want a pair but I spec we need to drop a few birthdays first. My mower and disc harrow will take care of those stalks.I have 2 or 3 antique stalk choppers. Do you have a couple of mules ?
I bet a John Deere mule would pull that with a little modifications of course.Me and Bow both want a pair but I spec we need to drop a few birthdays first. My mower and disc harrow will take care of those stalks.
I never have. Never had any issues.Don,t forget to add surfactant to the TSC glysophate.
