Looks like a gray rat snake X yellow rat snake hybrid.

I called it a grey rat snake. It’s grown, about 4 ft long. He’s under my front porch now.

It is. The stripes just behind its head are a little longer on average than most. That was making me second guess myself.

That one had me thrown, I’ve seen a heap of Gray Rat Snakes here, never have seen a yellow, and the pattern on Ruger’s visitor aren’t what I’m used to.

I threw me as well. When I first saw it I couldn’t see the head and the colors got my attention. After I saw its head I knew it was a rat snake of some type.

It`s not real common but they will interbreed on occasion. Makes for a snake that is marked up different from what we`re used to seeing.
