Few calls

Few calls I have made over the past year with this being the first year I have hunted own calls im pretty proud of them called in a good number of birds and two on a heavily hunted wma around my house the one with the cowboy hat and rattler is the one I finished today. The box call looks have came a long way since the first one.

Good looking calls! I too am a new call maker. It would be nice if this part of the forum would get going again. What are your favorite wood combo's on the box calls so far?

I’m still playing around a good bit I like the classic stuff the most like black walnut over black Cherry to me it just has the right sound that’s not to much one way or the other even though it’s all in thickness of the sides and I have gotten a lot of very good volume out of it almost to the point of to loud. And yes sir a trough call was the first call I made be careful though a router table can make a mess out of your fingers I had the piece jump as I pushed across and my finger went right into the bit now I have a set of push blocks that I use religiously when I turn my table on

Newest one and the first one to have a base instead of a handle for me it’s walnut over soft maple

Here’s a few more new ones the one on the cooler is a walnut over cherry the two in my hands are walnut over cherry and walnut over soft maple the checkered short box is bloodwood over black limba this combination is really starting to grow on me.
