I’m new here on this forum. Looks really great. Fished salt water my whole life so I was super stoked to land my first freshwater Striper yesterday. Have a great 4th of July everyone!
Nice...Congratulations! They can be addicting to chase. I usually go after them in winter after the boat traffic subsidies. Glad you broke the ice! What did you catch it on and welcome to the forum!
Congratulations on your first!!! It is one to be proud of, and as mentioned previously, some excellent eating. Just be sure to trim all of the red meat off your fillets to avoid a strong taste.
On a side note, I have been fishing for and catching stripers and hybrids for a long time. Why do some stripers have the broken stripes that are characteristic of hybrids when most stripers have solid lines?
My favorite fish to eat! I always trim the red out. Grilled and blackened is great. I’m not sure about the lines. I noticed this one’s lines are a little broken and I wondered the same.
